Being an undergraduate program B.Sc.(Hons.) in Agriculture is of 4 years just like B.E or B.Tech. The objective of this program is to combine concepts of Biology, Technology, and Agriculture Science to boost Agricultural Productivity

Course Overview

Bachelor of Science B.Sc.(Hons.) in Agriculture covers topics of Agricultural Sciences such as Agronomy+ (Agro-Forestry) , Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Entomology & (Apiculture +Sericulture), Genetics & Plant Breeding & (Seed Science Technology), Horticulture & Food Science & Nutrition, Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry + (Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences), Plant Pathology, Crop Physiology, Agro-Meteorology, use of modern scientific equipment and techniques in Agricultural Engineering, land surveying, water resource management, animal and poultry management, livestock, basics of biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, computers and bio informatics etc.

The main aim of this program is to train the student for improving the productivity of agriculture, proper management, and storage of produced products, prevention of exploitation of resources, and develop new ways for better yielding of agriculture through research.

As India is a land of Agriculture there is ample scope in a career for students graduates from agriculture in Government as well as private bodies such as Banks,pesticide,seed companies,fertilizer companies,aquatic farming,organic farming,Precision farming,integrated and group farming companies,advanced agro tech companies,many civil service etc. An agriculture graduate can pursue higher studies too and enroll himself in Postgraduate and Research program

Eligibility Criteria
  • A candidate who has successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent with PCB/CBZ combination.

  • A candidate who has completed Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture or equivalent of at least 2year’s duration after 10th year of schooling.

However once the specialised stream is chosen, a candidate should continue with the same specialisation.

A candidate gets awarded with B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture or B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture degree if he/she earns 180 credits in 8 semesters and he/she can exercise an option to exit with B.Sc. degree by earning 140 credits as stipulated for the first six semesters of the B.Sc.(Hons.) programs.
